Dr Shailey Vora graduated from St. George's Medical School, London in 2001 with distinction. She completed her general practice training through Guildford VTS. She is currently a GP Partner at the The Groves Health.
Her aviation medical training started with Emirates Airline in Dubai where she worked at the main headquarters for 4 years as a GCAA AME and as a family physician. She now works as a CAA AME in the UK.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
If applying for a pilot medical, you must register for a CAA portal account followed by applying for the medical on CELLMA at least 10 days prior the medical appointment.
IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR MEDICAL
Please bring along a form of photo ID, any relevant medical history, glasses/contact lenses if worn, and an up-to-date opticians report if applicable. You will be asked to produce a urine sample upon arrival to the appointment.
If LASIK or any corrective eye surgery has been done, you will need to provide the following information as stated by the CAA:
- An ophthalmic report must be provided from the centre that carried out the surgery and this should conform to the CAA’s guidance on ophthalmic reports. Details must include dates and type of surgery performed, pre-operative refraction, and details of any complications (or a statement that no complications have occurred).
- Class 1: refraction should be assessed at 4 and 6 weeks at an AeMC and an ophthalmological review undertaken with a consultant ophthalmologist at the 6 week point before re-certification can be considered.
- Class 2 – refraction should be assessed at 4 and 6 weeks with confirmation of absence of dysphotopsia symptoms and local consultant ophthalmological review at the 6 week point before re-certification can be considered.

You can revalidate your medical from 45 days prior to its expiry.
